In Arboretum, players curate their own garden of vibrant trees, represented by a deck of 80 cards spread across ten species, each in a distinct color and numbered from 1 to 8. The number of colors used scales with player count, ensuring a balanced and engaging experience for every game.
Each player begins with a hand of seven cards. On their turn, they draw two cards—choosing either from the central deck or from any visible discard pile—then lay one card into their personal arboretum and discard another to their own discard. These decisions form the heart of the game’s strategy, as players must balance the desire to build beautiful paths with the need to control what cards opponents can access.
The goal is to craft paths of increasing value, orthogonally adjacent, that start and end with the same tree species. But scoring is not as straightforward as it seems: at the end of the game, only the player with the highest total value of a color in hand earns the right to score their paths of that species. Each card in a valid path scores one point, or two points if the entire path is made up of a single tree type and longer than 4 cards.
This clever scoring twist transforms every turn into a tense, multi-layered puzzle: should you play a valuable card into your arboretum to improve a path, or keep it hidden in your hand to secure scoring rights? And what will you discard, knowing opponents can scoop it up?

ARBORETUM + LALEĂ ȘI TRANDAFIR: Pășește vârfuri de la picioare printre lalele alături de mine!
Două mici jocuri pentru a încheia această săptămână minunată, cu o tematică la modă a naturii: copaci, grădini și... flori!
În Arboretum, jucătorii își creează propria grădină de copaci vibranți, reprezentată de un pachet de 80 de cărți împărțite în zece specii, fiecare având o culoare distinctă și numerotate de la 1 la 8. Numărul de culori folosite crește în funcție de numărul de jucători, asigurând o experiență echilibrată și captivantă pentru fiecare joc.
Fiecare jucător începe cu o mână de șapte cărți. La rândul său, trage două cărți - alegând fie din pachetul central, fie din orice grămadă vizibilă de cărți aruncate - apoi pune o carte în arboretumul personal și aruncă o alta pentru a o arunca. Aceste decizii formează nucleul strategiei jocului, deoarece jucătorii trebuie să echilibreze dorința de a construi căi frumoase cu nevoia de a controla ce cărți pot accesa adversarii.
Scopul este de a crea căi cu valoare crescătoare, adiacente ortogonal, care încep și se termină cu aceeași specie de copac. Însă scorarea nu este atât de simplă pe cât pare: la sfârșitul jocului, doar jucătorul cu cea mai mare valoare totală a unei culori în mână câștigă dreptul de a-și puncta căile din acea specie. Fiecare carte dintr-o cale validă punctează un punct sau două puncte dacă întreaga cale este alcătuită dintr-un singur tip de copac și are mai mult de 4 cărți.
Această ingenioasă abordare a scorului transformă fiecare rundă într-un puzzle tensionat, cu mai multe niveluri: ar trebui să joci o carte valoroasă în arboretumul tău pentru a îmbunătăți o cale sau să o ții ascunsă în mână pentru a-ți asigura dreptul de a puncta?
